The legal order is not only a structure for resolving conflicts but, above all, a catalyst for innovation and development. The law can be described as a tool for human cooperation — the binding force that turns society’s framework into a functioning whole which, when applied correctly, creates the conditions for a flourishing society.

As a business law firm, we have a responsibility — both in how we act as an organisation and in how we help drive development forward together with our clients. Our sustainability work focuses primarily on social sustainability, the environment and ethical business conduct, and is based on the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Social sustainability — an inclusive and caring workplace
We want to be a workplace where people feel well, develop and thrive. Through initiatives such as Foyen Is (our core values), Foyen Active (health and training) and Foyen Free (flexible working life), we create a balance between performance and wellbeing. We actively promote gender equality, diversity and equal opportunities, including through our goal of increasing the number of female partners and ensuring an unbiased recruitment process. We are also engaged in schools in disadvantaged areas to inspire young people to pursue a career in law.

Environment — conscious choices in everyday operations
Foyen’s greatest environmental impact is mainly related to travel and purchasing. We therefore choose trains over flights, environmentally friendly taxis over fossil-fuel alternatives, use digital working methods and ensure that our offices are powered by renewable energy. We are also involved in LFM30, an initiative for a climate-neutral construction and civil engineering sector.

Trust is the foundation of our profession. We therefore work with high integrity, transparency and ethics in all assignments and have clear routines to prevent bribery, corruption and other misconduct. An active whistleblowing system further strengthens this commitment.
