Foyen recruits four business lawyers from Nyman Rudenstam

Published: 5. December 2016

Foyen continues to enhance the firm’s offer of business law services through the recruitment of four lawyers from the Nyman Rudenstam Law Firm. With the recruitments, Foyen becomes an even stronger force in business law within the energy sector. At the end of the year, Tomas Rudenstam and Jonas Conradsson will join the firm as partners. At the same time, associates Yasmine Shoaie-nia and Elinor Pejryd from Nyman Rudenstam will also join the firm.

– Through the recruitments, we are further advancing our position in business law. We are uniting Foyen’s expertise in traditional companies with our new colleagues’ expertise in start-up companies and future solutions within the energy sector, says Foyen’s CEO Lars Hag.

Tomas Rudenstam and Jonas Conradsson both have extensive legal experience. They co-founded the Nyman Rudenstam law firm and previously worked at Lindahl and Baker & McKenzie. Both are specialists in commercial contracts, M&A, company law and international transactions. For several years, they have also focused particularly on start-up companies in the energy sector and it is in this context that they have worked with Europe’s largest venture incubators in the sector.

Yasmine Shoaie-nia specialises in transactions and employment law, and has previously worked at Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton. Elinor Pejryd has previous experience from the Ahlford Law Firm.

– Foyen is a very strong brand on the legal market and is at the forefront in many areas of the law. We can now assist in further strengthening its expertise in areas such as M&A, company law and commercial contracts; not least in the energy sector, where we work with many emerging companies. At the same time, we will be able to offer our clients a wider range of legal services, says Tomas Rudenstam.

Dissatisfied with an inspection report?

The system of inspections according to AB 04 and ABT 06 plays a central role in construction. The main purpose of all inspections is to determine whether the total works or part of it has been completed in accordance with the contract. An inspection report is of great importance as evidence of the condition of the total works and is often the basis for negotiations between the parties on the existence of defects. It is therefore important that a party who is not satisfied with an inspection report has the opportunity to have it reconsidered.

How are public procurement contracts affected by the EU’s decision on sanctions against Russia?

On 8th of April 2022, the EU decided on a fifth package of sanctions which includes, among other things, further restrictions on trade with Russia. One element of this is the extension of the list of controlled items which might contribute to Russia’s military and technological enhancements or the development of its defence and security sector, and restrictions have been imposed regarding goods for import and export, transactions, and financing and financial assistance, among others. In the context of these sanctions, the Regulation also introduces a new article that addresses public procurement contracts.
