Tomas has worked most recently at Swedavia in Stockholm, where for the past eight years he has served as in-house counsel focusing on environmental law. At Swedavia he has been responsible for all environmental law issues concerning the group’s ten airports. Among other things, he has represented the company in permit assessments at the group’s airports and provided support on questions concerning noise, supervision, contaminated land, water activities, waste and chemicals. He has also provided regular support in planning and building permit issues as well as demarcation issues within real estate law.

–  I was attracted to Foyen since the law firm has a very trustworthy reputation on the market with expertise within its core areas, including several of Sweden’s leading environmental lawyers. I look forward to an enriching exchange of experience and to working with extremely knowledgeable lawyers, says Tomas Fjordevik.

Tomas’ legal background also includes work as a lawyer and associate at Mannheimer Swartling Advokatbyrå, where he was a member of the firm’s environmental law department. At that firm he advised on varying environmental law issues, served as counsel in permit assessments and participated as an adviser on environmental law issues in transactions and due diligence work. Before that, Tomas worked as an environmental lawyer at the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, as an associate at Advokatfirman Lindahl KB and as a law clerk at the Malmö District Court, including partial placement at the Property Court. He took up his position at Foyen on 1 February 2019.

–  Tomas has a solid background within environmental law. His expertise will strengthen us further and the recruitment represents a stage in our endeavour to become Sweden’s largest commercial law firm within project and technology-related law, says Foyen’s CEO Linnéa Djursén.

We have also recruited associates Jens Lindgren and Erika Nyman to the Construction business sector and associate Sara Kinnefors to the Land and Environment business sector.
