Swedegas and Vopak are now preparing, in partnership with the Port of Gothenburg, construction of a terminal for liquefied natural gas, LNG. The City of Gothenburg has approved zoning and demolition work on the site has started in order to make way for the terminal.

Foyen Advokatfirma represents Vopak and Swedegas regarding the LNG terminal which is the first one in Sweden with open access. The terminal has just been granted a permit under the Environmental Code and is part of a collaboration between Rotterdam and Gothenburg. The European Commission supports the project financially by 34 million.

The goal is to offer LNG in 2015, when the shipping industry needs to shift to more environmentally friendly fuels in Swedish waters. Even industries that will switch from oil and coal demand LNG.

The Foyen team is led by Pia Pehrson, attorney and partner, assisted by lawyer Caterina Carreman and counsels Ludvig Gustafsson, Anna Bernhardsson and Pelle Stubelius.
